The Birth Of The Internet Has Made Our Lives Easier
The birth of the Internet has made our lives easier. Instead of having to read a thick book to find basic answers, we go online. Finding information is just a click away. In many cases, technology has been a blessing; however, we have lose the tactile way of learning. Some people, like me, learn through touch. When we went to the special collection center, I touched and smelled the books. They had a historical odor to them, unlike the books today. The pages of the antique books were thick and made of cloth. The books we use today still have a stench and unlike old books, the pages are glossy and thin. The two forms of media I used for presenting the text was PowerPoint and a journal. You can choose different themes, fonts, slide transitions, and animations through PowerPoint. To give this media an aged look, I selected parchment paper as the theme. I had to make the background lighter because it was too dark and I couldnââ¬â¢t see my text. I used three typefaces and they were Edwa rdian, Papyrus, and Aldhabi. Edwardian is elegant, while Papyrus reminds me of treasure map type writing. I also chose to use Aldhabi because it was easy to read. PowerPoint allows you to transition your slides the way you want. I chose page curl as the transition for each slide because I felt as if I was reading a book. By using different computer graphics I am able to keep the readers engaged.
